I am Christopher Neddo
I'm a farmer not a politician.
I have spent 42 years as a dairy farmer and am now a small beef farmer. I am a veteran, a husband, father and grandfather. I love Vermont and my family farm. I am fiscally conservative and very independently minded, and I want to work with anyone who also wants the best for and seeks the good of Vermonters.
Bio
- I was born and raised in Barre Town on my family's farm. I went to Barre Town and Spaulding High schools and participated in Automotive tech.
- After graduation I joined the army reserves, soon after I met my future wife. While I was in the reserves I was a Military Police officer and served in Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War.
- I worked on the family farm from my childhood, after I was honorably discharged I worked full time on the farm. As my father and uncle got older I purchased the farm from them and have continued to farm since. I am the fifth generation in my family to farm this Vermont land.
- Since 2016 I have become more involved in Barre Towns government through the Development and review board and other committees.
- I have been married to my wife going on 40+ years. We had three children together and have 4 grandchildren.
Why I am Running?
We, the people of Vermont, are being over taxed while simultaneously driving our youth out of the state. Many don't see a future in Vermont
We are throwing more money and regulations at education, and getting lower test scores and engagement. Our children are not being formed to prepare them for life.
The Legislature has been creating rules and regulations that hamper industry, housing and health insurance.
I want to work with my fellow Vermonters; whether they are democrat, republican, or independent to make Vermont more affordable for our children and grandchildren.
