Christopher Neddo
For Vermont Senate
I never saw myself running for public office.
I'm a farmer not a politician. But I can no longer sit idly by and watch the State over tax and fee their citizens, driving the future of our state away.
I want Vermont to be a State that Vermonters can stay, build a life and grow.

Actionable Issues

Rural Vermont
We need to support rural Vermonters and their land. We shouldn't impose and burden Vermonters with excessive restrictions and red tape on how they use their property. Rural Vermonters are vital to the state whether it be in agriculture, forestry, or value-added support business.
Property Taxes
We can all virtually agree education property taxes are far too high. I support the "Vermont Promise"plan proposed by Republican Senators. We need to focus on students and their success not just on raising finances and budgets.
Housing
Streamline permitting between agencies (ACT250, Anr) The cost and time, in some cases years, can end a great project in its infancy.
Health Insurance
Change regulations to allow more insurers to enter our state. Competition drives down costs; potentially alleviating a lot of headaches for employees and employers.
Government Accountability
We need to audit all programs and committees to eliminate redundancies and programs that cost more than they deliver.
About Christopher
I'm a farmer not a politician. I've spent 42 years as a dairy farmer and am now a small beef farmer. I'm a veteran, husband, father and grandfather. I love Vermont and my family farm. I'm fiscally conservative and independently minded. I am willing to work with anyone who seeks the good of Vermonters no matter their choice of political party.
I was born and raised in Barre, Vermont. I grew up on my family's farm in the hills of Barre Town and am the fifth generation farming that Vermont farm.
I attended Barre Town school as well as Spaulding High as well as going through automotive tech.
After graduation I enlisted in the Army Reserves, and soon after met my future wife. During my enlistment I served in Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War as an MP.
My whole life I worked on the family farm; after my service worked full time on the dairy farm. As my father and uncle got older I decided to purchase the farm and have been running the farm since.
I have been married going on 40+ years. We had three children and have four grandchildren.
